Saddle Up For the Cure - October 1, 2011

We decided to participate in Saddle Up for the Cure at Ceasar's Creek State Park - a benefit ride for breast cancer awareness and the Susan G. Coman Foundation. Overall, the ride was wonderful! Great door prizes and what a wonderful turnout for a good cause.

My horses were amazing... can you expect any more from a Standardbred? Ace was "loaned" to a friend of a friend who came along on the ride with us - and it was her first time EVER on a horse. He took excellent care of him, just as expected. That horse is just priceless! :)

Delaware Open Show - September 17, 2011

Ok... ok... I'm a little behind. I'm going to attempt to get caught up on this thing... and maybe try and stay up to date on it! There's been a lot going on and I kinda forgot about it but it's harder and harder to catch up once behind and I don't want to forget any of the awesome stuff my horses have done!

On September 17th, we drove to Delaware Ohio to show at the fairgrounds in their Open Show. This particular fair has been overly supportive of the Standardbred breed and because of our club's participation, continues to have special Standardbred classes for us.

Overall, my horses did wonderful! This was Falco's first show participating in the 3-gait classes... and although we were the only one, he did great :) Gotta start somewhere, right? We also placed top 3 in several speed classes - now that he has figured out how to canter, he LOVES doing it!

Here are some pics -unfortunately I don't remember all my placings but I came home with several ribbons for both horses and it was one of our best shows! Looking forward to going again this year!
